Our telephone systems run off an Asterisk server. We have offices in the UK, Switzerland and South

Africa.

When out of the office, I use X-Lite to connect to our Phone

System. Until recently this worked well but in the last 3 weeks my calls have been disconnected or hung up after 30 seconds. This happened with every

call.

If I phoned the number back straight away, the call lasted until I chose to end it. <a href="http://www.counterpath.com"

target="_blank">Counterpath (the developers of X-Lite) do not offer support for the free X-Lite program. I did eventually find the answer to my problem

after browsing forums.

This is what I found. First go to the options and choose Advanced. Then click the network button. Under the section

“Call Inactivity” take a tick out of the box “In times of network disruption, automatically hang up calls after:” (default setting is 30

seconds).

<img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-420" title="1" src="http://www.comprendo.co.uk/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/1.JPG"

alt="1" width="563" height="514" />

Another setting you can check is under the Account Properties then the Advanced Tab. In the second section

“Advanced Options”, take a tick out of the box “Send SIP-keep alives”.

<img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-422" title="2"

src="http://www.comprendo.co.uk/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/2.JPG" alt="2" width="438" height="499" />

These settings will stop your

X-Lite from disconnecting a call automatically after 30 seconds.

If you are interested in upgrading your phone system or would like to find

Have you ever kept a list of usefull websites that you would use in the future only to find that you

have lost the list?

I have found a couple of websites like this and will update this post as i find new ones. Hope these are

usefull!!

Updated 07/01/2010

http://spambox.us

Many websites ask for your e-mail address to

download software or to register. But you don’t know what they’ll be doing with your e-mail.. Your e-mail will probably be stored in a database which will

then be resold to spammers and you will be receiving unsolicited bulk e-mail.

This site creates a temporary e-mail address that will expire

in the time you chose, all the mails directed to this e-mail will be transparently forwarded to your real e-mail.
For example, you need to register on a

forum that requires e-mail verification, so you generate a spambox e-mail with an expiry of one hour. The generated e-mail will expire in an hour, way enough

for the Forum to send you the verification code.

With this service you can create a temporary e-mail address that will forward all incoming

mail to your usual e-mail address.
Simply enter your e-mail address and the life time of your spambox and it will generate you a temporary @spambox.us

e-mail.

This service is completely free.

<a

href="http://www.converthub.com/">http://www.converthub.com/

Transform, convert and change pictures, photos, avatars, drawings,

sketches, designs, thumbnails, wallpapers, bitmaps, vector graphics, illustrations, charts, diagrams or any other image files free online! Import and export

to different image formats!

Just upload the image you want to convert, choose the format to convert to and the quality. Converted image is

then available for download.

This service is completely free

send files over a certain size? Then this is the answer. With this service you can send a file up to 2GB in size You can upload the file, choose the

destination email address and then the best part…..you can enter the ddress it was sent from! So you can enter your email address and it will look as if

the file was sent from your email!

server for an It support customer in Skipton

Follow these steps to extend a partition on your Windows 2003

Server:

At a command prompt, type diskpart

<span

style="font-family: Verdana;">Type list volume to display the existing volumes on the computer

<span style="font-family:

Verdana;">Type Select volume # where volume number is number of the volume that you want to extend.

Type extend to extend the partition the remaining free space

<span

style="font-family: Verdana;">This method works great if the storage is local or stored on SAN like an HP EVA.

If extending data

partition is successful in disk management but it does not show up in Windows Explorer

Then Use FSEXTEND to resolve the issue….

Download

FSEXTEND

Copy it in a Folder

Open CMD Navigate to that folder

Run FSEXTEND driverletter: and press enter

(Make sure that you are

on a different partition than the one you are trying to extend)

You can extend a Windows 2003 server system using a Vista

workstation.

Open system manager on the Vista workstation. Connect remotely to the windows 2003 server with system manager.

Open disk manger

and right click on the partition you wish to extend and click extend.

an eject, the job starts running (or initialising). A few minutes later the Job Status changes from “Running” to “Communication Stalled”. Then after 15

The solution is as follows:

Go to the Devices tab and right-click on

the media server. Choose the pause option and leave it paused for a few seconds. Then un-pause it. Next re-start the Backup Exec services. Once the services
